The Chicago Bears hired former Kansas City Chiefs co-offensive coordinator and assistant head coach Brad Childress Monday, Feb. 5, to be an offensive assistant. Childress retired a week ago but will reunite with his co-offensive coordinator partner Matt Nagy in Chicago.

Kansas City Chiefs offensive assistant Brad Childress is being installed as the offensive coordinator in the wake of former offensive coordinator Doug Pederson departing to coach the Philadelphia Eagles.

Fantasy Tip: There shouldn't be a big change for Kansas City's offense as Childress was already with the team. Jamaal Charles and Jeremy Maclin should remain a RB1 and high-end WR2, respectively, while Alex Smith continues to fly under the radar as a usable starting fantasy quarterback.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said consultant Chris Ault will help the team defend the pistol offense and could also help the team add the offense to their scheme. "He's been here once, and visited with the defense," Reid said, "and he visited with [offensive assistant Brad Childress], and they went over stuff. He's not moving here … I'll give him projects to do and work together with Brad."
