Free-agent 1B Sean Casey (Red Sox) is retiring, in order to join the MLB Network, according to a report from WEEI.com in Boston. Casey's role with the station has not yet been determined.

According to The Providence Journal, age is a main reason why Boston Red Sox 1B Sean Casey may not be back next season, but return or no return Casey still had fun playing. "I love it here. I'd love to stay in Boston. I'm going to look at the offseason, see what's going on, take a deep breath, get back to my family, get back to Pittsburgh," Casey said.
