Seahawks | Chris Carson suffers setback

Fri, 08 Dec 2017 17:42:50 -0800

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson (ankle, leg) has suffered a setback in his recovery, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

Fantasy Tip: Carson was expected to practice soon but could not miss the rest of the season because of the setback. Owners in all leagues can pass on Carson this season, but he will have value next season if he receives the starting job.

Seahawks | Chris Carson not ready for practice

Mon, 04 Dec 2017 16:00:19 -0800

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson (ankle, leg) will not participate in practice this week, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

Fantasy Tip: It appears that Carson has a chance to play again this season but may be back until the playoffs. Carson may not be a valuable fantasy option for the rest of this season but could be an option next season depending on his role.

Seahawks | Chris Carson healing quickly

Mon, 04 Dec 2017 10:30:39 -0800

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson (leg, ankle) is "unbelievably ahead of schedule," according to head coach Pete Carroll on his weekly radio show. Carroll said Carson will probably need at least two weeks of practice before he can play and is unsure whether or not he can practice this week.

Fantasy Tip: It sounds like the earliest Carson could come back is Week 16, and a return for the playoffs now seems well within reason if the always optimistic Carroll isn't pulling our chain. Mike Davis seems to have temporarily stopped the revolving door at running back that has existed since Carson's injury, but Carson should have no trouble taking back the starting job when he is healthy enough to do so and should be considered a low-end RB2 in fantasy when that occurs.

Seahawks | Chris Carson could return in December?

Mon, 13 Nov 2017 10:30:16 -0800

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson (leg, ankle) has "a chance" to return from the Reserve/Injured list sometime in December, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

Fantasy Tip: Carroll typically sees sunshine when most see clouds when it comes to injuries, so owners should be highly skeptical of this report. Carson reportedly suffered a fractured leg in addition to a high-ankle sprain, so it is highly possible he may not even be able to play in the postseason. However, if positive reports continued to come out of Seattle regarding his status, he was performing like a RB2 before getting hurt and the only Seahawk running back to experience any kind of success this season.

Seahawks | Chris Carson has ankle surgery

Tue, 03 Oct 2017 10:09:33 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson (leg, ankle) underwent surgery on his left ankle Tuesday, Oct. 3.

Fantasy Tip: It's obviously the first of many steps for Carson to return sometime this season, although that is far from a guarantee - if not very unlikely - given how the complexity of his injuries. However, it is a positive he has already taken the first step. With that said, Carson can be dropped in all redraft leagues that don't have an IR spot.

Seahawks | Chris Carson to undergo surgery

Mon, 02 Oct 2017 15:42:36 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson (ankle, leg) is scheduled to undergo surgery to repair his injured ankle. The team hopes Carson will be able to return late in the regular season.

Fantasy Tip: Carson will be sidelined for at least eight weeks, so he will not be return until December at the earliest. Owners probably can drop Carson if they need to add another running back. Thomas Rawls is expected to take over the starting running back job and could be a flex option.

Seahawks | Chris Carson placed on IR

Mon, 02 Oct 2017 14:34:59 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson (ankle, leg) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Oct. 2.

Fantasy Tip: It appears Thomas Rawls is the favorite to take over the starting job, but Eddie Lacy and C.J. Prosise will also receive playing time. Rawls has had success as the starting running back and could be a flex option for owners if he receives a majority of the carries. Prosise probably will be involved in the passing game and will be valuable in point-per-reception leagues.

Seahawks | Chris Carson injury update

Mon, 02 Oct 2017 11:54:42 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson (leg, ankle) has a broken bone high up in his left leg as well as a high ankle sprain, according to head coach Pete Carroll, who added Carson has not yet had an MRI to determine the full extent of the injury.

Fantasy Tip: The most likely outcome has Carson landing on the Reserve/Injured list shortly, with the only thing to be determined is whether he can recover quickly enough to return before the end of the regular season, which seems unlikely. Carson can be dropped in all leagues without an IR spot. Thomas Rawls is expected to get the first crack at the starting job again, although Eddie Lacy will likely rotate in, making it a bit of a weekly headache fantasy owners if they choose to add one of them off waivers this week.

Seahawks | Thomas Rawls next in line to start?

Mon, 02 Oct 2017 10:41:31 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls was a healthy scratch in Week 4, but head coach Pete Carroll seemed to suggest he would get the nod over Eddie Lacy in the wake of Chris Carson's "significant" leg injury. "With Chris being banged up, we're so fortunate to have Thomas ready to jump back out there. We're just lucky that we have a guy like that who's ready to go and is healthy and all that," Carroll said.

Fantasy Tip: Rawls was a healthy scratch after Lacy received the same treatment last week, so nothing is for certain. Lacy did lead the team with 52 yards rushing in Week 4 and figures to remain in the mix even if Rawls does take back the starting job, which would be the expected outcome since he was considered the starter early in camp before Carson's emergence. Either way, it's a situation to avoid in most leagues.

Seahawks | Chris Carson has significant injury

Mon, 02 Oct 2017 05:13:59 -0700

Updating previous reports, Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson (ankle) suffered a significant ankle injury, according to head coach Pete Carroll. He'll have an MRI Monday, Oct. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Another one bites the dust, and the team will have to turn to Eddie Lacy or rookie J.D. McKissic. Thomas Rawls (ankle) could re-enter the fold depending on his health. The situation is a mess, and none of them are pegged higher than a bye-week filler for now.
