Giants | Evan Engram seen as three-down TE

Mon, 30 Jul 2018 09:55:29 -0700

New York Giants TE Evan Engram should be considered a three-down tight end, according to head coach Pat Shurmur.

Fantasy Tip: Engram is a weapon in the passing game but also needs to be a solid blocker if he wants to be on the field for all three downs. He finished last season with 722 yards and seven touchdowns and has a chance to improve on those numbers this season. He can be considered a No. 1 tight end in most leagues.

Giants | Drops an issue for Evan Engram

Sun, 15 Jul 2018 18:55:11 -0700

New York Giants TE Evan Engram's six drops last year were tied for the second most among tight ends.

Fantasy Tip: Despite the drops, Engram managed 722 yards and six touchdowns as a rookie last year. A healthy Odell Beckham Jr. could cut into Engram's targets a bit, but he should still be a midrange TE1.

Giants | NYG expected to use two-TE sets

Fri, 06 Jul 2018 15:57:17 -0700

New York Giants TEs Evan Engram and Rhett Ellison likely will be on the field at the same time this season because the team is expected to use more two-tight end sets.

Fantasy Tip: Engram should have a big role in the passing game this season and has a chance to improve on his rookie numbers. He can be a No. 1 tight end in most fantasy leagues. Ellison likely will be used mostly as a blocker and should be avoided by owners.

New York Giants TE Evan Engram (ribs) has been catching passes from QB Davis Webb since the season ended.

Fantasy Tip: It sounds like Engram is up to speed after suffering an injury at the end of an otherwise solid rookie campaign. He should be considered a midrange TE1 heading into 2018.

Giants | NY Giants rule out two for Week 17

Fri, 29 Dec 2017 09:36:25 -0800

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard (neck) and TE Evan Engram (ribs) have been ruled out for Week 17 against the Washington Redskins.

Fantasy Tip: The absences leave Eli Manning with Roger Lewis, Travis Rudolph, Hunter Sharp and Rhett Ellison as his top playmakers. Ellison could have some very low-end TE1 appeal in Week 17 in a good matchup, but Lewis, Rudolph and Sharp can be avoided in all leagues.

Giants | Evan Engram not practicing

Thu, 28 Dec 2017 12:37:42 -0800

New York Giants TE Evan Engram (ribs) was unable to practice Thursday, Dec. 28.

Fantasy Tip: Don't be surprised if the Giants sit their talented rookie in what will be a meaningless game. As for next year, drafting Engram as one of the first handful of tight ends should be commonplace.

Giants | Evan Engram doesn't practice

Wed, 27 Dec 2017 13:25:49 -0800

New York Giants TE Evan Engram (ribs) missed practice Wednesday, Dec. 27.

Fantasy Tip: It's in the Giants' best interests to just rest their star tight end for the final game of the season. They have nothing to gain except possible aggravation of Engram's injury. He was already lucky enough to avoid a more serious injury. Rhett Ellison is a name to keep in your back pocket if Engrams sits.
