Chargers | Mike Williams makes nice TD grab

Sat, 18 Aug 2018 22:44:11 -0700

Los Angeles Chargers WR Mike Williams posted a 25-yard touchdown in the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 18 against the Seattle Seahawks.

Fantasy Tip: Williams had the highlight of the game, going up high to snag a pass in the right corner of the end zone from Geno Smith on his only target. He might be the team's primary red-zone threat, and he showed why in his one. He is worth a look as a WR4 in most fantasy leagues, as someone needs to step up near the end zone with Hunter Henry done for the season.

Chargers | Mike Williams a red-zone threat

Thu, 09 Aug 2018 09:34:12 -0700

Los Angeles Chargers WR Mike Williams said he's been given a sizable red-zone role this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Williams could be the Chargers' primary threat near the end zone with Hunter Henry out for the season. The big question will be how much can Williams produce in between the twenties? Becoming too dependent on touchdowns is dangerous, but Williams merits WR4 attention at worst.

Chargers | Mike Williams a second-teamer for now

Tue, 07 Aug 2018 18:35:14 -0700

Los Angeles Chargers WR Mike Williams was listed with the second-team offense on the team's initial depth chart release Tuesday, Aug. 7. Keenan Allen and Tyrell Williams are listed as the first-team receivers.

Fantasy Tip: Tyrell Williams is likely getting the nod because he has been with the team longer and proved capable of holding his own as the lead receiver in 2016. He is good enough to potentially keep Mike Williams out of the lineup all season, but make no mistake about it: the former Clemson star will make an impact if he can stay healthy this time around. While the two Williams may cancel each other out for fantasy purposes, both are very worthy of roster spots in all leagues.

Chargers | Keenan Allen to play in slot?

Thu, 31 May 2018 09:13:26 -0700

Los Angeles Chargers WR Keenan Allen may see more snaps from the slot this year due to TE Hunter Henry (knee) being out for the season. General manager Tom Telesco said the Chargers need to adapt and move on without Henry. Part of that adaptation will be implementing more three-wide receiver sets. In such scenarios, WRs Mike Williams and Tyrell Williams would likely line up on the outside with WR Keenan Allen in the slot, according to ESPN.com's Eric Williams.

Fantasy Tip: Allen is a tough matchup wherever he plays, but playing from the slot gives him a more diverse route tree. As long as the Chargers' standout receiver avoids injury, he should easily produce WR1 numbers again.

Chargers | Mike Williams looking good

Sat, 26 May 2018 09:17:35 -0700

Los Angeles Chargers WR Mike Williams has looked more confident and explosive during offseason workouts, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Eric D. Williams.

Fantasy Tip: Williams was limited to only 11 receptions and 95 yards last season because of injury, but he should have a solid role in 2018 if he can stay healthy. Williams has a chance to be a late-round option in deeper leagues but probably will not be a weekly starting option.

Chargers | Mike Williams pronounces himself fit

Tue, 24 Apr 2018 09:16:52 -0700

Los Angeles Chargers WR Mike Williams told the team's website he feels "100 percent" after dealing with a back issue for the majority of his rookie season in 2017.

Fantasy Tip: The Chargers' depth chart is still pretty stacked at receiver and Keenan Allen is still Philip Rivers' top option, but Los Angeles can find a sizable role for Williams if he can stay on the field this season. While he may not to produce enough to be a regular fantasy starter as a NFL sophomore, he should be able to begin displaying the talent that made him the No. 7 overall selection in last year's draft.

Chargers | Mike Williams has work to do

Tue, 27 Feb 2018 20:50:24 -0800

Los Angeles Chargers WR Mike Williams has a lot of work to do this offseason before emerging as the No. 2 option at wide receiver, according to beat writer Eric D. Williams, who believes that job is still held by WR Tyrell Williams.

Fantasy Tip: Williams was on the shelf for a good chunk of 2018 due to injury, and he still has Travis Benjamin and Tyrell Williams to contend with for targets behind Keenan Allen. As such, Mike Williams is a bit of a risky fantasy play with a murky fantasy outlook heading into the offseason.

Chargers | Chargers expect jump from Mike Williams

Mon, 08 Jan 2018 21:53:48 -0800

Los Angeles Chargers WR Mike Williams is expected to produce more next year after a full offseason of working with QB Philip Rivers, according to general manager Tom Telesco. Rivers also feels that way and is excited to be working with Williams, citing that he feels he can "add another dimension" to the offense.

Fantasy Tip: Williams had a highly disappointing rookie campaign, logging just 11 catches for 95 yards across 10 ballgames, but in his defense, the former No. 7 overall draft pick had a tough time overcoming injuries. First, he sustained a lower back disc herniation that cost him all of his offseason work and training camp, then a knee injury later on during the season that also cost him time. Williams will be worth a late selection next year in deep formats as a stash.

Chargers | Mike Williams active for Week 14

Sun, 10 Dec 2017 12:13:30 -0800

Los Angeles Chargers WR Mike Williams (knee) is officially active for the team's Week 14 game.

Fantasy Tip: Williams has seen limited targets since returning from his injury and does not have a big role on offense. He can be avoided in most fantasy leagues this week.
