Texans | Deshaun Watson running again

Mon, 05 Feb 2018 14:22:37 -0800

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (knee) ran Monday, Feb. 5, for the first time since suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament last season. Watson is ahead of schedule in his rehabilitation and hopes to participate in organized team activities this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Watson could have easily finished as the No. 1 fantasy quarterback in 2017 if it weren't for the serious injury suffered halfway through his inaugural campaign. His arm talent and running ability immediately thrust him into the national spotlight. As long as he's at full health, there's merit for him to be drafted as the first quarterback this year.

Texans | Deshaun Watson excited for training camp

Thu, 01 Feb 2018 11:26:30 -0800

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (knee) is looking forward to training camp this offseason because he will be so much more comfortable in his second year. The dual-threat quarterback said his head was spinning last year, but now he knows what he'll need to accomplish before the season commences. As reported previously, Watson is ahead of schedule in his rehabilitation from a torn anterior cruciate ligament and could participate in organized team activities.

Fantasy Tip: Watson electrified the NFL in his professional football debut. The football world took a collective sigh when Watson was ruled out for the season, but he will have had plenty of time to make a full recovery in time for the start of the 2018 season. As long as he doesn't take any steps back in his recovery, he's a prime 2018 QB1 draftee.

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (knee) continues to be ahead of schedule in his rehab from a torn anterior cruciate ligament, and head coach Bill O'Brien said he hopes Watson will be able to participate in some drills during offseason workouts.

Fantasy Tip: Watson is on track for training camp but could see the field this offseason if he continues to make progress in his rehab. He was having a great season before the injury and should be considered a No. 1 fantasy quarterback in drafts next season.

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (knee) is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament and could take part in organized team activities, according to head coach Bill O'Brien.

Fantasy Tip: The thought is nice, but there's no chance the team puts him in any risky situation this offseason. Watson is a midrange QB1 option in next year's drafts.

Texans | Deshaun Watson has surgery Tuesday

Tue, 07 Nov 2017 10:32:10 -0800

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (knee) underwent surgery Tuesday, Nov. 7, to repair the torn anterior cruciate ligament he suffered in his right knee during practice last week.

Fantasy Tip: Watson is expected to need the customary eight to nine months to recover, but if there is any good news to come from this bit of news, it is the fact he was able to have the surgery less than a week after the injury, as sometimes swelling in the knee delays the procedure. Watson is a good bet to be a full-go by training camp next summer and will likely be considered a high-end QB1 when he is cleared.

Texans | Deshaun Watson could need nine months to recover

Sun, 05 Nov 2017 07:56:18 -0800

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (knee) is expected to need eight to nine months to recover from his torn anterior cruciate ligament, according to a source. However, the last time he sustained the injury, he was able to return to action in five months.

Fantasy Tip: It appears as though Watson will miss organized team activities during the offseason but could be ready in time for training camp. He should be viewed as a No. 1 quarterback in all fantasy football leagues next year. Tom Savage is serving as the Texans' starter in Watson's absence but he possesses little value in any fantasy format.
