Dolphins | Kenyan Drake outstanding in MNF debut

Mon, 11 Dec 2017 20:58:16 -0800

Miami Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake rushed for 114 yards on 25 carries in the team's Week 14 victory Monday, Dec. 11, versus the New England Patriots. He also hauled in five of six targets for 79 receiving yards.

Fantasy Tip: It's becoming clearer why Miami jettisoned ex-starting running back Jay Ajayi for virtually nothing. Drake has looked terrific since moving up the depth chart, and he's even now logged his first two career 100-yard efforts in back-to-back games. Even when Damien Williams returns from injury, Drake should still remain very busy. If you were fortunate enough to pluck the second-year back off the waiver wire, just keep riding him.

Dolphins | Kenyan Drake shines in lead role

Sun, 03 Dec 2017 19:10:35 -0800

Miami Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake rushed 20 times for 120 yards and a touchdown and caught three passes for 21 yards in a 35-9 win over the Denver Broncos in Week 13.

Fantasy Tip: With Damien Williams sidelined with a shoulder injury, Drake had the backfield to himself. If Williams can't play in Week 14, Drake will be an upside RB2 against a vulnerable New England Patriots rushing defense.

Dolphins | Kenyan Drake pegged for big role

Mon, 27 Nov 2017 06:26:50 -0800

Miami Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake is poised for a big role in Week 13 against the Denver Broncos with RB Damien Williams (shoulder) out.

Fantasy Tip: The Broncos have been exploited on defense of late, and their offense can't move the ball. The Dolphins have a good chance to remain in the game, which keeps the run a factor. Drake is a good flex option next week.

Dolphins | Kenyan Drake hits pay dirt

Sun, 26 Nov 2017 16:39:17 -0800

Miami Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake rushed nine times for just 20 yards in Week 12 against the New England Patriots while adding three receptions for 27 yards and a touchdown.

Fantasy Tip: Drake was able to muster just 2.2 yards per carry, and he also lost a fumble, while Damien Williams has gobbled up 6.4 yards per total over his past two games. Still, the two are basically splitting the backfield workload right now and warrant fantasy consideration as a WR3 or flex play heading into Week 13.

Dolphins | Kenyan Drake stuffed in home loss

Sun, 19 Nov 2017 17:37:06 -0800

Miami Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake ran seven times for four yards in Week 11 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and he added one reception for 10 yards on two targets.

Fantasy Tip: Drake went nowhere, while Damien Williams ripped off a 69-yard run in this one, finishing with 102 yards from scrimmage. These two will continue to jockey for touches in Adam Gase's backfield, and Williams easily won the battle in Week 11. Next up is a trip to meet the Patriots in Week 12.

Dolphins | Damien Williams to remain involved

Thu, 16 Nov 2017 18:57:26 -0800

Miami Dolphins RB Damien Williams will continue to split carries with RB Kenyan Drake, according to offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen.

Fantasy Tip: Williams has managed just 33 yards on 16 carries the last two games while Drake has rushed for 151 yards and a touchdown on the same number of carries. Although Williams will remain involved, Drake is the only Miami back worth starting right now.

Dolphins | Kenyan Drake stuck in committee

Thu, 16 Nov 2017 18:49:03 -0800

Miami Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake is worthy of more carries, according to offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen, but Christensen said the formula with Drake and RB Damien Williams will not change.

Fantasy Tip: Although Drake has been the better runner by a wide margin, both he and Williams have received 16 carries each over the last two games. Splitting carries limits Drake's ceiling, but he has done more than enough with his touches to be considered a flex play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 11.

Dolphins | Miami's backfield will remain a committee

Thu, 16 Nov 2017 10:12:08 -0800

Miami Dolphins RBs Kenyan Drake and Damien Williams will continue to split touches, according to offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen.

Fantasy Tip: Drake has earned the lead role in Miami's backfield, but the Dolphins aren't giving it to him yet. Not only is Drake a bigger playmaker, Williams has only averaged 3.1 yards per carry in his career. The former is a solid RB2 play in a great matchup this week. The latter is more of a PPR flex.

Dolphins | Kenyan Drake nearly doubles season yard total

Mon, 13 Nov 2017 21:59:03 -0800

Miami Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake logged 82 rushing yards and a touchdown on seven carries in the team's Week 10 defeat Monday, Nov. 13, opposite the Carolina Panthers. He also added a pair of receptions for 10 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Notably, Drake nearly doubled his rushing yardage total entering the ballgame, and he's looked real good since the team dealt away Jay Ajayi prior to the trade deadline. In the last two weeks, Drake has now totaled 151 yards on only 16 rushing attempts (9.4 yards per carry!), so you have to believe he's in line for more work in the weeks ahead. As a result, he's a fine FLEX option right now.

Dolphins | Adam Gase sees running game making progress

Tue, 07 Nov 2017 10:02:49 -0800

Miami Dolphins RBs Damien Williams and Kenyan Drake combined to average 5.18 yards per carry in a Week 9 loss to the Oakland Raiders, enough to make head coach Adam Gase optimistic about the the running game in general. "I like where our run game is heading. We were able to do a couple things where we popped a big one. ... I think it makes a difference," Gase said.

Fantasy Tip: It's hard to imagine one year after Jay Ajayi exploded for 200-plus rushing yards three times that Gase could feel good about his team running for 86, but such is the state of the Dolphins' running game at the moment. Drake busted loose for a 42-yard scamper to make his final numbers look nice (nine carries for 69 yards) while Williams did most of his damage the passing game. It appears this will remain a committee backfield for the foreseeable future.
