Titans | Derrick Henry totals eight touches

Sun, 10 Dec 2017 20:14:45 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry rushed eight times for just 20 yards and a touchdown in Week 14 against the Arizona Cardinals and he did not catch any passes.

Fantasy Tip: The touchdown was nice for Henry, but it was a poor outing all around for the Tennessee offense. He didn't pile up the yardage like in past games and he had eight touches to 13 for DeMarco Murray. He remains the backup and a low-end RB3 or flex fantasy play in leagues of 12 or more teams as long as Murray is active.

Titans | Derrick Henry tops century mark

Sun, 03 Dec 2017 18:18:28 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry posted 11 rushes for 109 yards and a touchdown in Week 13 against the Houston Texans, highlighted by a win-clinching 75-yard scoring gallop late in the fourth quarter.

Fantasy Tip: Henry is a hard player to figure. Before his long scoring run he was basically doing nothing for his fantasy owners. At this point he remains more of an RB3 or flex fantasy option unless something happens forcing DeMarco Murray to the shelf.

Titans | Tennessee to keep RB committee

Thu, 30 Nov 2017 18:24:43 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray and RB Derrick Henry will continue to split carries as they have all season, head coach Mike Mularkey said Thursday, Nov. 30. "I think the way it has worked out, it has worked just fine," Mularkey said. "I think we have two starters."

Fantasy Tip: If Mularkey holds true to his word, Murray will continue to be a low-end RB2 against the Houston Texans in Week 13, and Henry will be a risky flex play.

Titans | Derrick Henry totals 89 scrimmage yards

Sun, 26 Nov 2017 15:17:10 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry rushed 13 times for 79 yards in Week 12 against the Indianapolis Colts and he added 10 yards on his only reception on two targets.

Fantasy Tip: DeMarco Murray was bottled up for the entire afternoon, but Henry had no issue solving the rush defense of Indianapolis. It's uncertain if Henry's performance will lead to more work heading into Week 13 against Houston, but he is worth using as a RB3 or flex option in most fantasy formats at this point.

Titans | DeMarco Murray likely to remain starter

Sat, 25 Nov 2017 08:32:06 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray is expected to remain the starter over Derrick Henry for the remainder of the season, although offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie admitted there is "a bit of a hot hand approach with the backs" and "not a specific play count for each."

Fantasy Tip: The Titans' offense as a whole has been a disappointment, the offensive line hasn't been nearly as good as it was last year and Murray has been slowed by injuries, but the 29-year-old has seemingly fallen off precipitously from what was a banner year in 2016. Tennessee reportedly values Murray's pass blocking and catching enough to keep things the way they currently are. Murray is a volume-based, low-end RB2 at best most weeks, while Henry is a high-upside, low-floor flex.

Titans | Derrick Henry manages just 32 yards

Thu, 16 Nov 2017 22:36:33 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry logged seven carries for 32 yards as part of the team's Week 11 defeat versus the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Fantasy Tip: Not much went well for the Titans on Thursday, including the running game. While Henry fared better than backfield mate DeMarco Murray, the second-year pro continues to see uneven opportunities from one week to the next. As long as that continues, Henry is no better than a deep flex option.

Titans | Derrick Henry rushes for 52 yards

Sun, 12 Nov 2017 14:40:45 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry rushed for 52 yards on 11 carries against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 10.

Fantasy Tip: Henry continues to share carries with DeMarco Murray and has received at least 10 carries in three of the last four games. He can be considered a flex option in deeper leagues.

Titans | Derrick Henry punches one in

Sun, 05 Nov 2017 19:13:56 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry ran eight times for 26 yards and a touchdown and had two catches for 10 yards in a 23-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9.

Fantasy Tip: Henry's carries continue to fluctuate from one game to the next, and he'll remain a risky flex play unless DeMarco Murray suffers an injury.

Titans | Derrick Henry goes nowhere fast

Sun, 22 Oct 2017 13:56:36 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry rushed 13 times for just 13 yards in Week 7 against the Cleveland Browns and he added two receptions for 11 yards on three targets.

Fantasy Tip: Henry exploded for 131 yards and a touchdown on Monday night against Indianapolis and he had big expectations with DeMarco Murray entering as a question mark with a hamstring injury. Henry was a total dud, and now Murray gets the bye to get back to 100 percent.

Titans | Tennessee pleased with Week 6 backfield split

Tue, 17 Oct 2017 19:21:36 -0700

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Mularkey told reporters he liked the distribution of work in the backfield during the team's Week 6 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Derrick Henry rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries, while Murray gained 40 yards on 12 carries. Mularkey also said Henry is beginning to establish himself as a big key in the fourth quarter of games. "That's probably been the case of late, when we go into a four-minute. Henry's probably a little fresher from not taking a lot of snaps. … But I really like how it has played out with percentages and how these guys (get along). I mean, the first guy down to congratulate (Derrick) on his (72-yard) touchdown was DeMarco Murray," Mularkey said.

Fantasy Tip: Despite the disparity in Week 6, Murray is still the lead back in this offense. It's also worth noting Henry was having a mediocre day (59 yards on his first 18 carries) before his dash to the end zone. With that said, Murray refuses to take a game or two off to let his hamstring heal, so Henry may continue to see more work moving forward until that changes. Murray is a back-end RB2 at best at this point, while Henry is a high-upside flex option.
