Twins | Miguel Sano off DL

Fri, 01 Jul 2016 09:34:52 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Miguel Sano (hamstring) was activated from the 15-day disabled list Friday, July 1, and 1B Byung Ho Park was optioned to Class AAA Rochester in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: Sano has big-time power and could easily reach the 30-homer mark in the second half. However, he whiffs often and won't help your team's average at all. Get him back into all starting lineups. If he was dropped anywhere, grab him immediately. Park has similar pop but has struggled of late. You can let go for now in mixed leagues, but you may want to stash him in AL-only formats.

Twins | Byung Ho Park sitting Wednesday

Wed, 29 Jun 2016 15:17:54 -0700

Minnesota Twins 1B Byung Ho Park (rest) is not in the lineup Wednesday, June 29. SS Eduardo Escobar gets a start instead at shortstop and will bat seventh opposite Chicago White Sox SP James Shields. 3B Trevor Plouffe is serving as the designated hitter, while SS Eduardo Escobar is shifting over to third base.

Fantasy Tip: Park should return to Minnesota's lineup after a day off. Escobar recently had a seven-game hitting streak throughout the middle of June, so owners might want to consider him in daily formats for his potential value against a very erratic starting pitcher.

Twins | Byung Ho Park's role changing?

Wed, 22 Jun 2016 22:59:03 -0700

Minnesota Twins 1B Byung Ho Park did not start Wednesday, June 22, against the Philadelphia Phillies, and manager Paul Molitor said he is looking at Park as more of a situational starter. "He's been made to understand that we're kind of looking for good matchups on a day-to-day basis," Molitor said.

Fantasy Tip: Park is best used as a corner infield option in deeper AL-only fantasy leagues unless he starts to pick up more at-bats down the stretch.

Twins | Byung Ho Park on the bench

Wed, 22 Jun 2016 14:37:47 -0700

Minnesota Twins 1B Byung Ho Park is not in the starting lineup against Philadelphia Phillies SP Adam Morgan Wednesday, June 22. 3B Trevor Plouffe will serve as the designated hitter. SS Eduardo Nunez will start at third base, while SS Eduardo Escobar will start at shortstop and is batting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Escobar is hitting .389 with two home runs and six RBI over the last seven days and should be an attractive starting candidate for owners in daily fantasy leagues. Plouffe and Nunez are also solid options for owners.

Sun, 19 Jun 2016 09:32:23 -0700

SS Eduardo Escobar will start at shortstop and is batting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Escobar is hitting .412 with two home runs and four RBI over the last seven days and is a sleeper option in daily fantasy leagues. Mauer and Nunez should be starters in most mixed leagues, while Plouffe should be a candidate in deeper leagues.

Twins | Byung Ho Park resting vs. Yanks

Fri, 17 Jun 2016 14:20:32 -0700

Minnesota Twins 1B Byung Ho Park is not in the starting lineup Friday, June 17. SS Eduardo Escobar draws into the lineup at the 6 and is batting sixth against New York Yankees SP Masahiro Tanaka. SS Eduardo Nunez remains in the leadoff spot and is serving as the designated hitter.

Fantasy Tip: Escobar is hitting .252 with no home runs and 10 RBI on the year. In limited playing time he has yet to find a groove at the plate and is not an intriguing daily selection. Nunez has been one of the Twins' most consistent hitters on the year. He's cooled off a bit of late but contributes across the board and remains a fantasy option in the majority of seasonal leagues, especially for his multiposition eligibility.
