Giants | Buster Posey will be DH

Sun, 24 Jul 2016 09:09:00 -0700

San Francisco Giants C Buster Posey will serve as the designated hitter against New York Yankees SP Nathan Eovaldi Sunday, July 24. C Trevor Brown will start at catcher and is batting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Posey is receiving a day off from playing in the field but will see his normal at-bats and should be starting in all leagues. Brown has recorded five hits and two RBI over the last three games and should be an attractive option in two-catcher leagues.

Giants | Trevor Brown has good game

Wed, 20 Jul 2016 23:53:36 -0700

San Francisco Giants C Trevor Brown went 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI against the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday, July 20.

Fantasy Tip: Making his first appearance since July 3, Brown showed no signs of rust and continues to produce well (.261-5-15 in 111 ABs) behind Buster Posey. He doesn't play enough to warrant a roster spot, but if anything were to happen to Posey, Brown would deserve a look.

Giants | Trevor Brown draws into lineup

Wed, 20 Jul 2016 11:50:39 -0700

San Francisco Giants C Trevor Brown is catching and hitting eighth against Boston Red Sox SP Drew Pomeranz Wednesday, July 20. C Buster Posey is serving as the designated hitter in an American League park.

Fantasy Tip: Brown faces a tough matchup in Pomeranz but is hitting at Fenway Park. Brown has some occasional power with four dingers and 13 RBI, but he's nothing more than a low-end catcher flier in daily games. Posey is an elite backstop that should be started regularly.
