Dolphins | DeVante Parker won't be traded

Wed, 15 Aug 2018 08:10:31 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (finger) won't be traded, according to a league source. The Dolphins are happy Parker has advanced in his knowledge of the offense to where he knows both outside receiver spots.

Fantasy Tip: Things can change, but it sounds like the team still believes in Parker. He should have ample opportunity to live up to his middle-round slotting once he recovers from the injury.

Dolphins | DeVante Parker week to week

Tue, 14 Aug 2018 08:30:23 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (finger) is week to week with a broken middle finger, according to a source. He's expected back for the season opener.

Fantasy Tip: It's always something. Parker is the quintessential tease at the position and in fantasy, but he has yet to live up to the hype. He could be a value in the middle rounds or a weekly headache.

Dolphins | DeVante Parker still not standing out

Sun, 12 Aug 2018 11:23:29 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (finger) jammed a finger on his right hand midway through practice Sunday, Aug. 12, although he remained on the field and was able to finish the session. However, Parker was "not only covered, but blanketed" by CB Xavien Howard while being held without a catch despite seeing at least three targets during team drills prior to the injury Sunday, according to Armando Salguero of The Miami Herald.

Fantasy Tip: According to Salguero, Parker has yet to deliver an "eye-opening practice" 12 days into training camp. It needs to be restated Howard was one of the league's top corners near the end of last season, but it still doesn't excuse a talent like Parker being kept in check every day for almost two weeks of practice. Parker is still a potential value pick in the seventh to eighth round area if he drops that far, but he probably shouldn't be counted on as a fantasy starter anytime soon.

Dolphins | DeVante Parker off to slow start

Mon, 30 Jul 2018 12:40:22 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker has not been able to do much in training camp so far while being shadowed by CB Xavien Howard. Parker's ineffectiveness has been mostly noticeable in team drills, according to The Miami Herald's Adam Beasley.

Fantasy Tip: Parker has given the Dolphins and fantasy owners their fair share of disappointment so far in his young career. The onus is on him to finally break out this year with Jarvis Landry gone. His upside resides in low-end WR2 territory but it's best to draft him as WR3.

Dolphins | DeVante Parker ready to deliver?

Sat, 14 Jul 2018 18:26:51 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker has been a "different guy" this offseason and is playing with a sense of urgency, according to wide receivers coach Benjamin Johnson.

Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners have been waiting on a breakout year from Parker since he entered the league, and if he can just stay healthy, it could finally happen in 2018. He has enough upside to take a chance on as a WR3.

Dolphins | DeVante Parker sets reasonable goals

Wed, 06 Jun 2018 11:03:12 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker said his 2018 goals are to stay healthy, reach 1,000 yards and score a few touchdowns.

Fantasy Tip: Those would easily be career-highs for Parker, although "a few" leaves room for interpretation. Parker's career-highs in yardage and touchdowns are 744 and four, respectively. His goals may not seem lofty, but they would mean a breakout for the four-year receiver. He's an ideal WR3 candidate.

Dolphins | DeVante Parker playing the part

Mon, 04 Jun 2018 13:43:11 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker has been putting in the time and work this offseason in an effort to finally break out. Coaches said few if any players have spent more time at the team facility than Parker. Specifically, more focus has been placed on studying film and managing his health.

Fantasy Tip: There have been questions regarding Parker's work ethic and maturity. Has he finally grasped what it takes to be successful in the NFL? Disappointment has been attached to his name for far too long, and with Jarvis Landry gone this could really be the year he breaks out. Nevertheless, he cannot be seen as more than a WR3.

Dolphins | Coach pumping brakes on DeVante Parker

Thu, 31 May 2018 19:18:24 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker has been performing well in OTAs, according to wide receivers coach Ben Johnson, but Johnson said he and the other coaches won't be making "giant claims about him" like last offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners would be wise to follow a similar approach and proceed with caution when drafting Parker. He has all the physical tools, but he is a boom-or-bust WR3.

Dolphins | DeVante Parker not accepting help

Sat, 26 May 2018 19:05:20 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker has not responded to retired WR Chris Chambers' attempts to help him "speed up his growth curve," according to Chambers. "I don't know if he fully gets what it means to be a pro," Chambers said. "Athleticism and talent only last so long."

Fantasy Tip: This isn't the first time Parker has been accused of a lack of effort, but all reports coming from the team have been positive. It remains to be seen if Parker will ever put it all together, but his upside makes him worth a look as a WR3.

Dolphins | DeVante Parker playing with purpose

Thu, 10 May 2018 11:36:28 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker has done a great job so far this offseason and seems to be playing with more of a purposed, according to head coach Adam Gase. Gase posited that injuries have been the main hindrance to Parker's growth and development, including a high-ankle sprain last season. Furthermore, he believes the presence of fellow WRs Kenny Stills and Danny Amendola will aid Parker's growth.

Fantasy Tip: Here we are again - another offseason in which Parker is being talked up. Last year was supposed to be Parker's breakout party, but the ankle injury was legitimate. If he can stay healthy in 2018, we might finally see that long-awaited season. View him as a WR3.
