Raiders | Amari Cooper not practicing

Wed, 30 May 2018 20:18:37 -0700

Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper (hamstring) did not participate in practice Tuesday, May 29, because of the hamstring injury he suffered last week.

Fantasy Tip: Cooper probably will be limited for the rest of the offseason workouts so the team can make sure he is ready for training camp. He is coming off a disappointing 2017 season but will be the main option in the Raiders' passing game this upcoming season. He can be a No. 2 fantasy receiver in 2018.

Raiders | Amari Cooper learning from Jordy Nelson

Sat, 26 May 2018 20:55:56 -0700

Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper said he has been learning a lot from WR Jordy Nelson.

Fantasy Tip: Cooper is coming off his worst season as a pro, but the offseason additions of Nelson and Martavis Bryant could make life easier for Cooper. He is capable of flirting with WR1 status, and he should be available for a WR2 cost after his rough 2017 campaign.

Raiders | Amari Cooper leaves OTAs

Tue, 22 May 2018 13:00:27 -0700

Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper (hamstring) left organized team activities early Tuesday, May 22, with a hamstring ailment, according to head coach Jon Gruden.

Fantasy Tip: This will need some monitoring, but it doesn't sound like the issue is overly concerning. Gruden has already said Cooper will be the focus of the offense in 2017. For now, Cooper has low-end WR1 to high-end WR2 appeal.

Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper's fifth-year option was officially exercised Monday, April 23. His contract is now extended through 2019.

Raiders | Oakland to pick up Amari Cooper's option

Sun, 22 Apr 2018 18:29:28 -0700

Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper is expected to have his fifth-year option picked up soon, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: After back-to-back 1,000-yard campaigns to begin his career, Cooper finished with just 680 yards last season. Injuries were apparently part of the problem, and as the clear go-to target in Oakland's passing game, Cooper could rebound in 2018 and recapture his WR2 form.

Raiders | Oakland in contact with Amari Cooper's agent

Fri, 20 Apr 2018 14:50:16 -0700

Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper's agent has been in contact with the Raiders about Cooper's contract situation, according to general manager Reggie McKenzie. The Raiders will have to decide this offseason whether to exercise the fifth-year option in Cooper's contract.

Fantasy Tip: Cooper is coming off a disappointing 2017 season but can still be one of the better receivers in the NFL. He should be the top targets in the Raiders' passing game next season and has a chance to be a No. 2 fantasy receiver.

Raiders | Jon Gruden hypes up Amari Cooper

Mon, 02 Apr 2018 19:03:08 -0700

Oakland Raiders head coach Jon Gruden reiterated his plans on WR Amari Cooper being a central figure of the offense this season Monday, April 2, and went one step further by suggesting Cooper reminds him of a "young Tim Brown." "I said it when he came out of Alabama, that he reminded me of a young Tim Brown. He has that type of game speed. He's elusive, and has a wide range of routes he can run. … We're going to make him the main vein of our passing offense and move him around a lot," Gruden said.

Fantasy Tip: Gruden has a history of getting production from his top wideout despite working with different types (Michael Clayton, Joey Galloway, Antonio Bryant, Keenan McCardell and Keyshawn Johnson during his time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers alone). With an injury-plagued season hopefully behind him, Cooper is a prime rebound candidate in 2018 and should be drafted as a low-end WR1.

Raiders | Amari Cooper will be featured

Wed, 28 Feb 2018 10:12:30 -0800

Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper will be the focal point of Oakland's offense in 2018, according to head coach Jon Gruden.

Fantasy Tip: Cooper had a disappointing 2017 campaign, but his talent and potential are undeniable, as Gruden has apparently noticed. If Cooper can stay healthy and if Gruden's words come to fruition, there's no reason why Cooper can't be a No. 1 fantasy wide receiver.

Raiders | Amari Cooper never healthy in 2017?

Fri, 16 Feb 2018 11:08:00 -0800

Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper battled an assortment of injuries all season, quarterback Derek Carr told Sirius XM Radio on Friday, Feb. 16. "He would never say it to you, but I'll say it to you to have his back. That man was out there giving anything he could and, honestly, a lot of guys probably wouldn't have played with what he had,' Carr said.

Fantasy Tip: This should not come as a surprise, as he began the season with a leg/knee injury before dealing with an ankle issue and concussion late. Cooper played so far below the standard he set in his first two seasons that injuries almost had to play a major role in his disappointing season. Especially with Jon Gruden calling the shots on offense now, Cooper is a prime rebound candidate in 2018.
