Vikings | Stefon Diggs could become free agent after 2018

Sat, 30 Jun 2018 07:53:10 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Stefon Diggs could become a free agent after the 2018 season if the team is unable to sign him to a contract extension, in the opinion of Joel Corry of CBSSports.com. The franchise tag for wide receivers is expected to be about $17 million, with a salary cap of approximately $190 million, and the Vikings may have difficulty holding on to him at that price.

Fantasy Tip: The 24-year-old Diggs had 64 receptions for 849 yards and eight touchdowns last season and should be viewed as a high-end WR3 in all fantasy formats.

Minnesota Vikings WR Stefon Diggs is one of the players that the Vikings would like to sign to a contract extension, according to general manager Rick Spielman.

Vikings | Stefon Diggs draws praise

Sun, 27 May 2018 15:02:51 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Stefon Diggs was lauded by new offensive coordinator John DeFillippo recently for displaying "fantastic" ball skills, according to Sid Hartman of the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Fantasy Tip: While his catch and yardage totals dropped from 2017, Diggs scored eight touchdowns last season - doubling his previous career high. To this point of his career, the fourth-year receiver's biggest issue has been durability. Considering he is entering a contract year, an offensive coordinator who seems to love him and has Kirk Cousins at the controls of the offense, it wouldn't be a surprise if 2018 is the season it all comes together for Diggs.

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. will thrive if Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur becomes the next head coach of the Giants as expected, according to WR Stefon Diggs, "because Pat knows how to get people the ball."

Fantasy Tip: Ankle issues derailed Beckham in 2017, but he should return to his WR1 status in 2018. Prior to last year, he had delivered three straight seasons of more than 1,300 yards and at least 10 touchdowns.

Minnesota Vikings WR Stefon Diggs finished with six receptions for 137 yards in the NFC Divisional Round playoff game against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, Jan. 14, and his 61-yard game-winning touchdown with no time left will go down in NFL playoff history as one of the biggest.

Fantasy Tip: Diggs and the Vikings were down 24-23 with a handful of ticks on the clock, but he went up for the ball, eluded a defender and shook loose down the sidelined while U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis was going bonkers.
