Patriots | James White finds end zone Monday night

Mon, 11 Dec 2017 22:13:41 -0800

New England Patriots RB James White did not have any rushing stats but he did manage to haul in three of four targets for 11 receiving yards and a touchdown in the team's Week 14 loss Monday, Dec. 11, against the Miami Dolphins.

Fantasy Tip: Interestingly, this was White's first game of the season in which he did not log a single rush attempt, though luckily he was still active in the passing game, nabbing at least three receptions for the tenth time in 13 games. Due to his inconsistency in the offense, though, he's more of a FLEX option for deeper formats.

Patriots | James White totals 50 scrimmage yards

Sun, 03 Dec 2017 13:55:28 -0800

New England Patriots RB James White rushed five times for 18 yards in Week 13 against the Buffalo Bills and he added 32 yards on four receptions. He was targeted six times.

Fantasy Tip: White's scrimmage yard total was his most since Week 9 against the Los Angeles Chargers when he had 87 total yards. He is still only worth a look as a RB4 at this point, as Rex Burkhead has flown past him on the depth chart.

Patriots | James White carries passing game

Sun, 29 Oct 2017 18:57:03 -0700

New England Patriots RB James White caught five passes for a team-high 85 yards in a 21-13 win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: White continues to be a monster catching passes out of the backfield, and he is in on pace for more than 80 receptions. His yardage totals fluctuate, but he is still a quality flex play in PPR formats.

Patriots | James White involved in run, pass game

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 13:38:05 -0700

New England Patriots RB James White rushed for 23 yards on three carries against the New York Jets in Week 6. He also caught four passes for 22 yards during the game.

Fantasy Tip: White has been involved in the running and passing game in every game this season and should remain in that role moving forward. He can be a flex option in point-per-reception leagues next week against the Atlanta Falcons.

Patriots | James White tallies 60 yards

Thu, 05 Oct 2017 21:48:55 -0700

New England Patriots RB James White caught seven passes (on nine targets) for 57 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday, Oct. 5. He also had two carries for three yards.

Fantasy Tip: White is an important piece of New England's passing attack, though operating out of the backfield will always keep his yardage comparatively low. He holds clear value as a flex option in point-per-reception formats.

Patriots | James White not a big factor

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 14:56:06 -0700

New England Patriots RB James White rushed for 17 yards on five carries against the Houston Texans in Week 3. He also caught one pass for 11 yards in the game.

Fantasy Tip: White's role in the offense will change each week, but he likely will be used as a receiver most weeks. He can be a flex option in point-per-reception leagues against certain opponents but should not be a weekly starter.

Patriots | James White hauls in eight receptions

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 18:54:42 -0700

New England Patriots RB James White rushed twice for 11 yards in Week 2 at New Orleans and he added eight receptions for 85 yards on his eight targets.

Fantasy Tip: White isn't a bad RB3 in most standard fantasy formats, but he's a tremendous RB2 in PPR formats heading into Week 3 against the visiting Texans.

Patriots | James White saw bulk of snaps Thursday

Fri, 08 Sep 2017 09:37:28 -0700

New England Patriots RB James White played in 43 of 81 offensive snaps in a Week 1 loss against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday, Sept. 7. Mike Gillislee finished second on the team with 24, Rex Burkhead had 10 and Dion Lewis tallied six.

Fantasy Tip: The Patriots' committee backfield remained very much intact in the opener, although Gillislee certainly appears to have the edge at the goal line, as expected. Burkhead got the start, but it was White who saw the most playing time - primarily as when the Patriots used tempo. For now, Gillislee has the look of a volatile RB3/flex option who will pile up short-yardage scores when given the opportunity, while White is also a flex play in PPR. The other two backs are complete dart throws at the moment.

Patriots | No depth chart at RB in New England

Tue, 22 Aug 2017 09:26:05 -0700

New England Patriots RBs Mike Gillislee, Rex Burkhead, James White and Dion Lewis form a "deep, talented group" and any one of the four could be featured at any given time, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss.

Fantasy Tip: Gillislee, who was expected to be the early-down and goal-line back in New England this year, has missed the last two weeks with a hamstring injury, giving Burkhead time to shine. White is locked into a passing-game role, while Lewis figures to contribute in just about every way possible on offense and special teams. Owners may be able to hit big on occasion in this backfield on a weekly basis, but all of them will be hard to trust as anything more than flex options.

Patriots | James White, Dion Lewis co-starters

Wed, 09 Aug 2017 14:38:02 -0700

New England Patriots RBs James White and Dion Lewis are listed as co-starters on the Patriots' initial depth chart.

Fantasy Tip: Take this one with a grain of salt, a sizable grain of salt. The Patriots backfield is stacked, but White and Lewis are both passing-down, change-of-pace backs. Mike Gillislee is expected to be the actual runner, particularly in goal-line and short-yardage situations.
