Rams | Brandin Cooks inks long-term deal

Tue, 17 Jul 2018 12:13:42 -0700

Los Angeles Rams WR Brandin Cooks signed a five-year contract extension Tuesday, July 17. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: Cooks, Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods comprise an underrated wide receiver corps for the Rams. Unfortunately for Cooks, there may be too many mouths to feed for him to be viewed as more than a low-end WR2 to high-end WR3. He's more the latter in a PPR setup.

Rams | Big plays coming for Brandin Cooks?

Fri, 29 Jun 2018 18:40:31 -0700

Los Angeles Rams WR Brandin Cooks has been "able to get to that deep ball" consistently over the last few years, according to head coach Sean McVay.

Fantasy Tip: His ability to deliver big plays is undeniable, but much like last season when he was in New England, Cooks could find himself being too dependent on big plays because of all the weapons around him. He's worth grabbing as a WR3, but don't overpay for a few big weeks.

Rams | Aaron Donald may hold up other contract talks

Sun, 03 Jun 2018 17:07:43 -0700

The Los Angeles Rams may not address other contract situations, such as RB Todd Gurley or WR Brandin Cooks, until it has addressed DT Aaron Donald's contract.

Rams | Brandin Cooks fitting in

Fri, 25 May 2018 19:43:55 -0700

Los Angeles Rams WR Brandin Cooks and QB Jared Goff connecting in the passing game has "become the norm" during OTAs, according to Myles Simmons of TheRams.com.

Fantasy Tip: The Rams have plenty of firepower on offense, which could limit Cooks' ceiling a bit. He should still be a strong WR3 and is always capable of producing big plays.

Rams | LA Rams hope to extend Brandin Cooks

Tue, 03 Apr 2018 17:46:36 -0700

The Los Angeles Rams have "already expressed interest" in an extension with newly acquired WR Brandin Cooks, who is entering his contract year in 2018.

Fantasy Tip: This would seem rather obvious, as teams don't typically trade away first-round picks for one-year rentals. However, Cooks may not be in a rush to sign given the fact that Allen Robinson signed a free-agent deal worth $14 million per year and Sammy Watkins inked one worth $16 million per year. The Rams' best recourse may be to use the franchise tag next year, but they'll exhaust their other options first. In the meantime, Cooks should be considered a WR3 with WR2 upside for fantasy purposes this season.

Rams | Brandin Cooks acquired by Rams

Tue, 03 Apr 2018 15:04:41 -0700

New England Patriots WR Brandin Cooks and a fourth-round pick were acquired by the Los Angeles Rams Tuesday, April 3, in exchange for a first-round pick and sixth-round pick.

Fantasy Tip: Cooks joins what now appears to be somewhat of a crowded receiving corps, even with Sammy Watkins gone. Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp will be Cooks' main competition for targets, but Cooks does figure to be Jared Goff's primary deep threat in one of the NFL's most prolific offenses. Still, it's hard to envision Cooks surpassing the value he had in New England, which was as a low-end WR1 to high-end WR2.

Patriots | New England trades Brandin Cooks

Tue, 03 Apr 2018 14:58:57 -0700

New England Patriots WR Brandin Cooks and a fourth-round pick were traded to the Los Angeles Rams Tuesday, April 3, in exchange for a first-round pick and sixth-round pick.

Fantasy Tip: Cooks' absence paves the way for Julian Edelman and Chris Hogan to be Tom Brady's go-to wide receivers. Edelman has low-end WR1 to high-end WR2 value in PPR leagues if he can stay on the field. Hogan possesses low-end WR2 to high-end WR3 appeal assuming he can stay healthy as well. Phillip Dorsett and Cordarrelle Patterson become late-round fliers, although the Patriots could obviously add to the position via the draft.

Patriots | Brandin Cooks feeling good

Sun, 11 Feb 2018 09:23:27 -0800

New England Patriots WR Brandin Cooks (head) is encouraged by how he has felt since suffering a head injury during Super Bowl LII, according to people close to him.

Fantasy Tip: Cooks should be able to participate in offseason workouts if he does not suffer any setbacks. He posted solid numbers in his first season with the Patriots and should be a top-three receiver for the team next season. He can be a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver in all fantasy leagues in 2018.
