Bills | LeSean McCoy in better shape

Fri, 10 Aug 2018 18:31:29 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy looks "quicker, faster and more powerful than last year," according to head coach Sean McDermott.

Fantasy Tip: As an every-down workhorse in a run-heavy offense, McCoy looks like a RB1 on paper. However, some potential issues off the field loom large, clouding his fantasy value and making him one of the riskiest picks of the early rounds.

Bills | LeSean McCoy to be at camp

Mon, 23 Jul 2018 09:29:43 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy will report training camp with the rest of the veteran players Wednesday, July 25, even though he is dealing with some off-field issues, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to keep an eye on the situation to see if McCoy's status changes at all during the preseason. He has been a consistent option for owners over the years and can be a No. 1 or No. 2 running back again this season.

Bills | LeSean McCoy blamed for abuse

Tue, 10 Jul 2018 11:22:28 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy has been accused of beating a woman, her son and a dog and for using performance-enhancing drugs. The claims were made against McCoy Tuesday, July 10, but McCoy quickly denied them in a statement on his Instagram account. "For the record, the totally baseless and offensive claims made against me today on social media are completely false," McCoy stated. "Furthermore, I have not had any direct contact with any people involved in months." The Bills are investigating the alleged incident.

Fantasy Tip: If true, McCoy's football career could be all but over, and whether or not this is resolved before the regular season remains to be seen. He was already a risky fantasy pick considering his age, workloads over the years and the fact that defenses will be honed in on him given Buffalo's weak supporting cast. If vindicated, McCoy is a low-end RB1 to high-end RB2 option, but the latter is more realistic.

Bills | LeSean McCoy called league's best

Sat, 07 Jul 2018 18:23:55 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy is the best running back in the NFL, according to Miami Dolphins RB Frank Gore.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy remains an every-down back in a run-heavy offense. Age isn't on his side, but there is no reason to think he can't provide RB1 production again in 2018. Grab him in the first two rounds.

Bills | LeSean McCoy not given much help in 2017

Tue, 29 May 2018 20:44:10 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy was tackled behind the line of scrimmage 55 times in 287 carries last season, far and away the most in the league.

Fantasy Tip: While McCoy does his fair share of dancing in the backfield, he cannot be held solely responsible for being stuffed on nearly 20 percent of his carries. Things may be on the verge of getting worse, as left tackle Cordy Glenn was traded and center Eric Wood was forced to retire. It's a far from ideal scenario for McCoy, who will turn 30 this summer. He's going to be a risky RB1 in fantasy.

Bills | LeSean McCoy limited Thursday

Thu, 24 May 2018 12:04:46 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (illness) was limited during organized team activities Thursday, May 24, because of an illness.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy will continue to be a main focus on offense this upcoming season and should be one of the league leaders in touches. He can be a No. 1 running back in all fantasy leagues and will be selected in one of the first two rounds of drafts.

Bills | LeSean McCoy still the focal point

Fri, 02 Mar 2018 20:04:48 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy will be a "big part" of the offense in 2018, according to general manager Brandon Beane.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy finished in the top five in the NFL in rushing last year and added 59 catches. In Buffalo's run-heavy attack, he should be able to deliver another year of RB1 production, especially in PPR formats.

Bills | Less shotgun for LeSean McCoy

Mon, 12 Feb 2018 13:31:57 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy saw a career-low in percentage of carries from the shotgun formation last season (17%). Interestingly, that percentage has decreased in each of his last five years. Furthermore, his yards per carry and yards after contact were also the lowest of his nine-year career.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy will turn 30 years old this offseason, and while he's still putting up respectable numbers, he may be over the proverbial running back hill. He will remain featured in the Bills' offense, of course; Buffalo doesn't even know who its starting quarterback will be next season. As of now, McCoy stands in low-end RB1 territory with increased value in PPR formats.

Eagles | Philly tried to get LeSean McCoy back

Fri, 02 Feb 2018 06:50:05 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy was a trade target of the Philadelphia Eagles through back-channel intermediaries, according to sources. The Eagles offered a package of players that included then-Eagles WR Jordan Matthews.

Fantasy Tip: Turning 29 didn't hurt Shady from a counting perspective as he put forth 1,138 rushing yards, six rushing scores and a 59-448-2 line through the air. His 4.0 yards-per-carry average was the lowest of his career, though. There was a lot of changes and turnover on the entire offense, and he performed well despite it. He'll be 30 next season, and the upside will diminish, but McCoy remains an RB1 in fantasy.
