Steelers | Ben Roethlisberger not calling for OC change?

Tue, 16 Jan 2018 09:48:59 -0800

Contrary to earlier reports, Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger seemed to suggest on his weekly radio show that he wants offensive coordinator Todd Haley to remain with the team. "The least amount of change the better. We don't want to have big changes because we're right there, we're on the cusp... We feel we have some great things going for us," Roethlisberger said.

Fantasy Tip: While Roethlisberger appears to be standing up for Haley here, it's just as possible he has already made his feelings for his play-caller known behind the scenes and is campaigning for quarterbacks coach Randy Fichtner to get the job should Haley not be offered another contract. Haley would likely not struggle for work for long should Pittsburgh choose to move on from him.

Mon, 15 Jan 2018 19:41:16 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley just finished the final season of his contract, and there is speculation he may not return to the team in 2018 due in part to an extended lack of chemistry and communication with QB Ben Roethlisberger. Quarterbacks coach Randy Fichtner is believed to be a "strong candidate" to replace Haley if he is not brought back.
